Your blog is a good example of how the film industry frequently takes creative liberties with novels. Some stay true to the original writing, but most don't. As far as the Bond stories, I'm sure that if I read those books again and saw the movies immediately after, I'd be more critical of plotlines and character development. And maybe casting, too.
