Thanks, Ash. I noticed the self-help siren calling to to writers soon after I joined Medium. The song was hard to resist - like a fresh Krispy Kreme Donut first thing in the morning, and I admit to leaning in that direction more than once when writing.

But I knew all along that my interests are not in the self-help field. And while I slowly continue to find other topics that allow me to connect with readers, I expect that my success on Medium (whatever that looks like) will be on the slow side. I'm fine with that.
