Thanks for your interest. From my childhood collection of interactive fiction, three books stuck with me:

1 - Dungeons & Dragons Endless Quest "Return to Brookmere," by Rose Estes.

2 - Find Your Fate Adventure #4 "Indiana Jones and the Eye of the Fates," by Richard Wenk.

3 - I believe the 3rd is from the original Choose Your Own Adventure series, but I can't remember the title or author. Sorry. The hero visits a set where three different movies are being filmed, and suddenly the movies become real.

With enough research, I'm sure any of these can be found on Amazon or your favorite bookseller.

Beyond the books, though, my time playing D&D and my curiosity about the ever-present "What if?" question helped inspire this article, also.
