For the past several months, I've been on the fence about whether or not to start a newsletter. Nik, you've put into words the reasons for my hesitancy - value is in one's writing, not necessarily in telling others weekly about one's writing. Yes, newsletters may work for some, but not everyone.

I'm now in the "email-consistency-gums-up-my-schedule-and-other-people's-inboxes" camp.

I hope this last year has seen new growth and further success for you!
