And that bit about readers paying $5 per blogger on Substack? Yeah, doesn't sound very promising. If someone like yourself, with 1,000s of followers, doesn't see it as a decent way to find and keep readers, I really don't know how someone like me, with less than 500, can expect any different. I know that's not the entire equation, but it sure seems like a big chunk.

Finally, good luck with your new website! If you're planning to create it yourself, I recommend Weebly. Not perfect, but very user-friendly and much less tech-heavy than WordPress. I've also heard good things about Wix, although I haven't used it myself.
